Kat Rosie-Bird - For the love of plants…
I want to celebrate the bristly, gooey, swaying, stinging, colourful, shiny, wild, smelly, rough, obscure, prickly, slimy, sexy, magical, spiky, sacred, beautiful and life filled (or sometimes less than life filled) plants we find in our gardens! Using drawing, story telling and whatever takes your fancy, i want to each share about a plant, any plant, we have met. What does it look like? Smell like? How has it informed, exasperated or thrilled us? And most of all, what has it taught us? Come and share or also feel free to just come and listen.
I am a creature who enjoys making fires and playing in the dirt, among many other things. The more I play in the garden, the more open my eyes become to everything in life.

Tania Dionisio & Simon James - Renew and connect with Earth.
We would like to inspire a new way of relating to Gaia, mother earth. We have all been told many things about earth and our relationship with her, from the media, environmental groups, scientists, our social groups and family members. We are holding the space to allow a communing with Gaia and to experience our interconnectedness with all life. Where we move ourselves into a state of receptivity, open our hearts to feel and connect with life around Us. In a small group of 6-8, we will share and provide a guided meditation, followed by a mindful walk with Gaia herself.
Simon practices as a doctor in both in orthodox and integrative medicine, along with providing conscious chats to the enquiring minds. Tania works as an art therapist/holistic counsellor and energy healer in private practice and in the community.

Dr Mario Alam - Confessions of a Palm reading Doctor
Dr Wayne Dwyer once said that it has taken over 130 million people dying for their beliefs before we realized that every single person believes differently. With this awareness and through the curiosity of a child, I have asked what it takes to facilitate change within an individual and awaken the dream of the soul within. Through stories and metaphors I will share some of the little gems ive uncovered through looking through the many eyes of the world…
Dr Mario Alam is a General Pracitioner who has worked in hospitals and communities throughout Australia. Mario has studied western medicine, holistic health and councelling, palmistry, neurolinguistics and psychosomatic medicine. Born in war, he knows only peace. He has travelled extensively exploring a changing world and deepening his understanding of the human condition. He is the founder of “World Doctor”- an organization that hosts teachers to share their expertise in healing, and together, solve the world’s medical problems starting with cancer. He has a deep passion for reading the soul through the palm…

Paul Liknaitzky - Traversing the map-territory continuum: neuropsychological perspectives on the antidepressant mechanisms of non-ordinary states of consciousness
In this talk I will focus on a central factor in states of consciousness, the cognitive ‘map-territory’ continuum, and make an empirically supported case for the value and mechanisms of certain ‘non-ordinary’ states of consciousness for wellbeing. I will describe neural, cognitive, emotional, developmental and evolutionary links to this fundamental feature of awareness, and will argue that ‘depression’ (along with related subclinical forms of suffering) is best conceptualised as a ‘hyper-ordinary’ state that may benefit from ‘non-ordinary’ interventions. I will discuss personal narratives, the way stories tell us, and why forms of ‘experiential listening’ are central to personal evolution and wellbeing. This offering will be in the form of a talk, followed by discussion and questions. Using only ‘maps’, I am hoping to construct a sound argument for stepping into ‘territory’.
Paul Liknaitzky is knee-deep in a neuropsychology PhD at the University of Melbourne.

Dru yoga is a gentle, heart based yoga which emphasises energy flow. We will flow into an Energy Block Release sequence before learning the deep yogic breath. Breathing is the first thing we do when we enter the world, and the last thing we do when we leave it. To be at one with the breath is to be at one with life, connected to the inner and outer world.
Jordan Tiger Scotney is a musician, pianist, drummer, composer, yogi and life explorer who enjoys living in the moment and daggy dancing.

Grant Moon (& Paul Huxford) - Journey into the Underworld
A journey into the underworld is a shamanic experience to connect into the spiritual heart of the mother earth. The journey is both a guided and sound sensory experience with the drum guiding and other sounds guiding us through the experience. A journey into the earth reminds us of our intertwined relationship with the earth, the importance of being grounded and the spiritual power that exists in matter. The underworld can help us to reconnect into this wisdom and profound aspect of our earth nature, helping us to move towards more of an embodied state.
Grant Moon has a private practice working as a Somatic Psychotherapist. Grant also runs workshops and courses in Shamanic Medicine that utilizes the wisdom of the underworld to help work through traumas to move into a more embodied state.

Tas Manolopoulos - The Vulnerable
I came very close to not attending Wild Mind. I thought I needed to have a structured and polished platform to belong. But I realised I didn’t have one. Then I thought I could pretend that I did, but knew that that wasn’t going to work either. The choices were to either hide my frailty and my fear, or to bring them along with me and to be as I am. The Vulnerable is a space where we get to do this. We leave the polished performance (or the hopes for one) behind. We come together to hold each other in the complexity and the vastness of our lives. We pause, we share - we listen to one another in our quest for more and for less. We get to be who we are, as we are. In The Vulnerable, I get to bare my uncertainty and in it, invite recognition and companionship. I hope you get to do the same. The death of both of my parents in the past 15 months has had a profound impact on my life. To know myself, and to know life, without them is the greatest challenge I’ve ever faced. The Vulnerable invites us to share on our experiences with loss and to reflect on the terror, the mystery, and the opportunity to live that it offers. Join me in what I hope to be a rich enquiry into life and existence.
Tas Manolopoulos is a Transpersonal Counsellor and Psychotherapist in private practice. He has been a student of Yoga and Philosophy for the past 20 years and has set up his practice in the Fitzroy Yoga studio where an important part of his journey began. He works fundamentally with an enquiry into Existence and he asks questions of who we as we are. He has a particular interest in attachment and addiction, and understands from personal experience the damage and disconnect that our attachments perpetuate.

Courtney Halsted - The Primal Shaman
Using dance, movement and body generated sound, you will connect to, embody and express your EARTH, aka The Primal Shaman. There are two components to this workshop: Primal and The Shaman. Primal is the raw, wild, earthy, untamed, grunting, animalistic, ancestral remembering, vital, power aspect to ourselves. The Shaman is the part of us which takes this wild and often chaotic energy within and from around us, and channels it to a purpose; whether that is making creative work, doing healing or conducting ritual. It is the integrator.
Courtney Halsted has spent the last 14 years delving deeply into ritual, yoga mediation and spiritual philosophy; as well as energy work of many shades, tantra and conscious dance and sexuality practices. Courtney loves trees, frolicking in nature and being pummelled (not too hard) by ocean waves. Also chocolate and excellent, inspiring company!

Saskia Post & Phoenix Arrien - Telling Stories, Talking Sticks
Join us in this workshop to create and share a deep experience of a Sacred Circle outside with the elements ... Through ritual practice, movement, voice and meditation we will explore and access parts of ourselves that may be seeking expression, healing and integration ... In ceremony we will then create talking sticks and use them in a sacred way to speak our true stories as they arise. With the wind to carry our stories, the earth to hold us in dance and the sky to catch our breaths we will co-create this ritual, becoming grounded and empowered by connection to land, each other, ourselves and spirit. This Ritual will be facilitated by Saskia and Phoenix Arrien.
Saskia is a Transpersonal Art Therapist at Silent Spring Soul Ecology, she is a lecturer at the Phoenix Institute and loves connecting to the land as often as possible, wildly! Phoenix plays with balancing earth and spirit in herself while creating safe sacred spaces... in this she is grateful to her indigenous teachers. She has a degree in Eagle Watching, a masters in Wind Dancing and a PHD in Sheer Guesswork.

Philip Knight – Introduction to Eye Gazing Meditation
With its roots in the Hindu concept of Darshan, (Sanskrit word meaning “Seeing and being seen by God”), Eye Gazing Meditation is a powerful personal and inter-personal vehicle for healing. When practiced regularly, it can bring lasting self-acceptance, peace, intimacy and love into your life. Jalaluddin Rumi, one of the most read love poets of our age was most passionate about the degree of love that eye gazing evoked. This workshop aims to provide such an experience through a carefully orchestrated series of steps that will allow for the revelation of the depth of your own soul – back through yourself. As the ego is ‘purged’, energetic and somatic aspects of self are brought up and out. The beginning of your transformation will then be characterised with the experience of more peace and love, and it is hoped that you will be better prepared to face, accept and love others.
Philip Knight is a father of two who works in Local Government and is a part-time artist. He is passionate about, and committed to, showing people how to transgress the meaningless and diseased aspects of our culture through utilising and revealing esoteric techniques of healing, wisdom and love.

Sean O'Carroll - Dancing with the Land
The majority of contemporary conscious movement practice takes place in church halls, dance studios, etc. interior spaces in which the environment itself is merely a space to be used for internal journeying. In the spirit of Wild Mind, this dance journey will be a journey into relationship with the land on which we dance. We will walk the land together and collectively find a place that speaks to us. We will then dance a 1-hour elemental wave in which we actively dance WITH land - the contours, the dirt, the sky, the trees, the grass...dialoguing with the land through movement.
Sean O'Carroll is an ontonaut. He is practicing psychotherapist and lectures at the Phoenix Institute of Australia. He has recently completed his Dancing Freedom Facilitator training.

Lydia Hikari Marolda- Dancing Seeds Creative Movement for Kids
Dancing Seeds Kids was designed to reach out to and support children and teens. It was developed to share the tools and wisdom I have gained throughout my career in education and dance with children and teens across the world. It is designed to inspire kids to connect with their bodies, encourage and empower them to take responsibility for themselves, their actions, their relationships with others and their relationship to this beautiful planet we all call home. We stoke the child’s imagination through fun and participatory activities such as dance, yoga, creative movement, songs, games and partner play. This in turn, nurtures a child’s nature which is to be connected with their heart and their environment. Our goal is to empower each child to reach towards their highest and greatest potential, while simultaneously promoting health, learning and most importantly fun. I'm looking forward to playing in Nature with the young Wild Minds who will be in attendance.
Hello, my name is Lydia Marolda and I am a lover of all things body and movement oriented. I have been working with children for 13 years and practicing yoga and contemporary dance/creative movement for my entire life. I have a Masters degree in Education and Expressive Arts and have worked as an elementary school teacher, as a high school teacher and mentor and also a kinder teacher within a Rudolf Steiner school. I am a trained children’s yoga instructor and “Dancing Freedom” facilitator. I have been inspired for many years to create a curriculum that would incorporate all of the embodiment practices that I have learned along the way and integrating these with my deep reverence for nature and indigenous ways of relating to the Earth.

Jac Price - Empower. Embody. Express.
With your help I would like to create a safe space, loosely guided by activities, which will give us all the opportunity to shed our day to day survival “masks” and express what is truly present within. The witnessing of our expressions will validate the importance of sharing, receiving, holding and feeling and moving through all emotions. Through the support of witnessing we can EMPOWER each other to EMBODY and express present feelings related to our current situation and ENVIRONMENT.
Born with ballet shoes tied to my feet and my heart sewn to my sleeve I have found it an absolute necessity to consistently physically and verbally express my emotions in order to keep living and loving with ease, and to the greatest of my ability. After recent participation in conscious movement and self development workshops (20 years after misplacing my ballet shoes) I have re-discovered the power of being witnessed in my rawness and vulnerability. I have found this process to be essential for my growth as an individual and within my community.

James O'Brien - Take the Blue Pill: Psychotherapy as Social Control
As psychotherapists, we want to believe in the nobility and essential goodness of our work – but a disturbing argument has been raised by Laing and others that psychotherapy frequently takes the form of social policing. According to this school of thought, many of us as therapists unconsciously reinforce and convey politicised constructs of health, normality and the “good life” to the disillusioned. What does it mean to be sane: or “well-adjusted to an insane society”? Why is our examination of our own definition of health important both politically and personally, both now and in contributing to future sociopolitical outcomes? In this workshop, we'll look at the role of the psychotherapist in a constructivist light. We'll explore the implications of the ever-shrinking definition of positive mental health as represented by the DSM-V, and the average psychotherapist's complicity in this process. We'll also look at how primarily intrapsychically-directed therapeutic responses to psychopathology detract from the urge to engage in the sociopolitical sphere. This talk will take the form of a lecture, followed by a panel discussion and questions.
James O'Brien is a holistic counsellor and psychotherapist in private practice. He has worked with voice-hearers, intravenous drug users and autistic children as well as the general public in a variety of group-based and individual therapeutic contexts. He has facilitated workshops and given presentations on a wide range of topics, including heartbreak and dreamwork.

Kiri Bear - Cairn of Mourning
Our capacity to love is defined by our capacity to grieve. It is only natural that as we open our hearts to our wild selves and the more-than-human world around us, from time to time feelings of grief and loss will overcome us. I propose to cocreate a cairn of mourning, available to the community throughout the weekend, a space to bring your grief and have it witnessed by the Earth. Kiri cares deeply about the whole Earth community including her fellow humans. She is committed to looking for ways to be of service and longs to be part of a spiritual community. Kiri writes a blog called http://humansarenature.com

Kiri Bear - Everyday Rituals
Kiri will host a conversation about everyday rituals that help us place our small selves into the large self of nature. How do you remind yourself that you are part of nature? How do you connect with the nature within you? How do you draw on the more-than-human world to keep the spark of life alive within you? I am a woman who has (in the past) fallen asleep at the wheel of my life and I am determined not to let it happen again. I have a couple of things to share and I know you do too.

Stacia Karina & Gero von Aderkas - FORUM for Embodiment
Forum is a communication tool and a ritual space where people gather with a common understanding and intention to witness each other and to be witnessed by each other. It calls us to share with each other from a place of authenticity, honesty and vulnerability building greater self-awareness, fostering trust and compassion. Sharing together in this way makes your life relevant to my life and my life relevant to yours in the context of our common environment and hence empowers the entire group. The power of group intention is what creates the magic of Forum.
Stacia & Gero are deeply curious about and inspired by the exploration of how we humans relate to ourselves, each other and with(in) differing external environments. Their co-founded venture The Art of Relating sees them creating non-judgmental, alive and transformative spaces for individuals, couples groups and communities to explore and expand in. They are particularly interested in what conditions are necessary for those parts of us to show up that we often find challenging to be seen in, and how this type of intimate relating supports us to heal and free ourselves through the deepening of connections with others.

Dragon Veins – The Energy of the Land
The ancient Chinese had a complex philosophical and yet practical understanding of their land and the skies above it. The unique geography of the middle kingdom led to the creation of their original system of ‘Dragon veins’. In the west modern society has embraced part of these theories under a more common and misleading name... This presentation will trace the history of the art - the conditions that created it, how it evolved and changed under pressure of China’s burgeoning population – with parallels to our present situation. A discussion and analysis of the gathering site and surrounding areas will demonstrate how these classical methods can still be of use today.
Tyler J. Rowe BTCM-Acu BTCM-Chm is a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner with 20 years in the Chinese Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture. A fascination with Chinese philosophy and culture led him in recent years to translate classical texts on terrain & cosmology and teach their practical applications. Tyler is also a Taichi & Chinese Martial arts coach and former international Australian team member.

Lauren Homes - Inner and Outer Landscape Drawing
This experiential workshop explores some of the decisions that an art-maker may make during the process of drawing. We will experiment with drawing the physical world (outer) and drawing from our inner world and experiment with the scale from realism to abstract. We will exercise ‘seeing’ things as they are as a meditative practice and drawing a subject or vision from start to finish versus interacting with the new image as it evolves and grows on the page.
Lauren Homes is a Melbourne based Artist and Transpersonal Art Therapist currently undertaking a Master of Art Therapy at La Trobe University

Geoff Berry - Songlines and the Modern Indigenous Soul
We all have an Indigenous Soul, whether we are native to this land through generations or newcomers with a deeply felt connection to another place on the other side of the planet. The Indigenous Soul seeks out relationships unique to the place it lives in, enters into conversation with the rest of nature and its complex myriad of living beings, and pays respect to the fact that we are part of a wider song of the earth. Tapping into this deeply rich source gives us the opportunity to activate it for our own wellbeing as well as on behalf of all the other beings we share this incredible, rare planet with. When we listen to nature within and without, we can compose new, inclusive songlines that arise from our deep collective journey through this body of land. And then we can sing them.
Geoff Berry earned his PhD and MA degrees for creative explorations of perennial and contemporary myth and symbol. He served as chairperson of the Melbourne Zen Group from 2005-2008 and is currently Director of Studies at the Phoenix Institute of Australia, as well as the Australian representative of the Earthwide Ecological Society. http://theplayoflight.org/

Kate Perry - Feeling the Land
'Feeling the land' is a morning walking for anyone who wishes to feel and touch the space we are sharing, with gentle steps and an open heart. The session will begin with some brief moments of guided breathing to connect to self, space and ground, with half hour walking meditation. Participants are then invited to return to a creative space to either sit and meditate, or form a creative response to an element/image/feeling/energy that resonated with them as they connected to land.
Kate Perry brings her beautiful two year old son Skip, a lifetime of love for the Australian landscape, and a decade of practice as a creative arts therapist on the Mornington Peninsula.

Lia Avene - Philemon: This is not a workshop
At Wild Mind, Philemon will be sharing stories and songs from her forthcoming album. There will be opportunity to ask questions and open up a conversation about creative adventures in the abyss. Much like a work shop.. but just..not.
Lia Avene is a songwriter, multi instrumentalist and performer from Melbourne. She is a lover of experimental adventure and a staunch fearer of all things hippy tinged and 'workshoppy'. Her solo project 'Philemon' is a experiment in folk noir - an exercise in casting light into the abyss and finding darkness in the holiest of places.

Jade Bonney - Eco-Therapy Case Study
I will be sharing some of my initial explorations into applied eco-therapy. “I invite you to surrender to the moment, your ritual is both planned and spontaneous.” This is how I began the Death and Rebirth ritual with my client in the sacred surrounds of nature. In this sharing I will walk you through my process: The intent and preparation, a recreation of the ritual symbols and process, and the client’s internal and external integration.
Jade holds an associate degree of holistic counselling and is currently completing her bachelor year. Jade volunteers at a local community centre facilitating both group and individual counselling. Currently establishing her private practice in Seaford, running personal development workshops and counselling.

Paul Huxford - The Phenomenology of Openness
This highly interactive 90-minute mini-workshop will explore the concept and experience of deeply embodied openness. Drawing from the wisdom and techniques of advaita vedanta, neo-tantra, voice dialogue, radical inter-subjectivity & psychodrama, we will traverse our way from the Personal to the realms of Trans-personal openness (and then back home again in time for tea!). We will be addressing the questions: What does openness feel like in your lived experience? What does your own bodily-shape of closure feel like? Is full openness in the midst of great pain possible?
Paul is a Transpersonal Counsellor and a lecturer in counselling and art therapy at the Phoenix Institute of Australia. He is an experienced workshop facilitator, and is currently completing a multi-modal Research Masters on Inter-subjectivity & Openness in the Psychotherapeutic Encounter.
